GoDaddy Domain Name | www.Caerberu.com

With my Paypal account already verified, I decided to buy my own domain name: www.CaerBeru.com

By the way, what's with "Caerberu"?

Someone once commented that she couldn't decide whether it referred to the "Care Bears", or whether it was "Cerberus" instead. Well, it's both and, at the same time, neither.

The Story behind the name "Caerberu"

The story is quite short and simple.

I love watching anime, and I sort of got influenced by the Japanese way of saying names. So, "Beru" is from my name "Oliver". And "Caer" is something that I made up while writing Chapter 1 of the prequel to the novel I'm working on.

Later, someone from one of the on-line writing communities commented on my name, and said that "Caer" in Welsh actually means "Castle". So I guess that's fine as well. :)

Anyway, back to the domain name. I'll try to have it linked to my web host as soon as possible.

Watch out for the opening of www.CaerBeru.com!

I bought my domain at around $9.95, but it'll round up to $11 for some charges.

If you're thinking of buying your own domain, I'd say you'd get the best out of your money from GoDaddy.com. There are cheaper Domain sellers out there like 1-and-1 and other sites, but really, they have poor support.

For your hosting, there are free web hosts out there like www.freehostia.com. But if you're gonna pay for hosting, then you should go for Host Gator.
